Blackheads and blackheads are invading your skin and you want to limit or even eliminate them. Here are a few tips to combat these imperfections.
What is a blackhead?
A blackhead is an open comedo that most often appears on combination or oily skin. They most often appear in the areas where the sebaceous glands are most active, i.e. the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin), the back and the chest. Their dark colour, tending towards black, is linked to the oxidation of sebum in contact with the air.
What is a blackhead?
By definition, a comedo is an excessive accumulation of sebum. It can either be open and oxidise, forming the famous blackheads, or closed (whiteheads). In the latter case, they can also be invaded by acne-causing bacteria if they are allowed to spread.
To combat these imperfections, you need to work on your skin regularly.
